End Times: Great Tribulation
Chapter 2: Daniel Greatly Beloved of God
Daniel Greatly Beloved of God
Abstract
Daniel Greatly Beloved of God
-
Daniel was very special in God's sight, he was determined to serve God all the way, even in what he ate separating himself for God.
-
Despite knowing about king Darius' decree stating that petitions should only be directed to the king, Daniel kept worshiping and praying to the Living God; when he was cast into the lions' den, God sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt Daniel.
-
Daniel was accustomed to confess his sins, as well as the sins and iniquities of his people, while even humbling himself [most likely fasting] for 21 days to receive an answer and understanding from God.
-
Just like Daniel may we purpose in our hearts to be faithful to Almighty God all the days of our lives, and may we continuously be purified and walk in holiness by God’s grace.
Daniel 1:8, KJV, AMP, AMPC
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore, he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
“But Daniel made up his mind …”
“But Daniel determined in his heart …”
Daniel 6:10
“And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days."
Daniel 6:16,22,23
"So, the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”
“My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you … So, Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.”
Daniel 9:20-21a,22a, 23cd
“Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God … , the man Gabriel, … , he informed me,…, for you are greatly beloved; therefore, consider the matter, and understand the vision.”
-
We can see why Daniel was very special in God's sight, he was determined to serve God all the way, even in what he ate separating himself for God.
-
Moreover, despite knowing that there was a firm royal decree -with harsh consequences when disobedient- to only petition and/or bow down to king Darius, Daniel was faithful and kept worshiping and praying to His trustworthy God. In the end God sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths as to not hurt Daniel who was cast into the lions den. [Daniel 6:22]
-
We also learn that Daniel confessed his sins, as well as the sins and iniquities of his people and also humbled himself (Strong's H6031 -ʿānâ: weakening and afflicting himself often interpreted as fasting) for 21 days to receive an answer and understanding from God. [Daniel 9:3-6,9-11,16,18-20; 10:11-13]
-
Just like Daniel may we purpose in our hearts to be faithful to Almighty God, El Shaddai, all the days of our lives, and may we continuously be purified and walk in holiness by God’s grace.
Daniel 12:4,9-10, AMP
"“But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the scroll [NKJV: book] until the end of time. Many will go back and forth and search anxiously [through the scroll], and knowledge [of the purpose of God as revealed by His prophets] will [greatly] increase."
"And the angel said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are concealed and sealed up until the end of time. Many will be purged, purified (made white) and refined, but the wicked will behave wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are [spiritually] wise will understand.”
-
Now that we are in the end of time and have the Internet, we can search all kind of information and acquire knowledge in a variety of areas; knowledge and technology has indeed greatly increased.
-
But, deception has also augmented exponentially. More than ever, we need God's Spirit to grant us discernment to screen information and news by using different alternative sources, and be vigilant regarding new technologies that are implemented.
-
Above all, God's Truth revealed in His Word must be our foundation and guide through our life's journey.
