Born less than 2 weeks prior to Hurricane Hazel that caused deaths in the Caribbean and in the USA of between 592 and 1,192 persons on October 5, 1954.

From an early age thoughts went through my mind such as, why would not every one go to heaven. My Mom was a devote Roman Catholic and we regularly went to church.

It was only when I went to study development (macro) economics in Holland at age 20 that I had a personal experience with our Lord Christ Jesus around October 1974. This is what Jesus calls to be spiritually born again, when He answered Nicodemus, "Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again (from above), he cannot see the kingdom of God.” [John 3:3]

Convinced that I needed to finish my studies, I persevered until I got my Masters Degree. During that time together with my niece I went to a congregation in Amsterdam. There I learned that the Holy Spirit has anointed us and gave us authority over the enemy. Karel Hoekendijk once visited our church and discussed Acts 1:8. I also listened to Reverend R.W. Shambach's powerful message on healing the sick.

So when a student came to me to ask for prayer as she had a cancerous tumor, I cursed the cancer and commanded it to die and leave her body. A few weeks later she came to tell me the good news that she was completely healed.

During those years, I could not get enough of God's Word, I would literally almost eat the Scriptures in His Presence.

After 3 years we, my niece and I, decided to go to another congregation this time situated in Rotterdam. Every week there was healing and deliverance service. Many came from all over the Netherlands to receive their deliverance and restoration. Evil spirits were cast out in Jesus' Almighty Name and numerous were set free.

We had services in Rotterdam, but also in Amsterdam and Eindhoven. After some time I was allowed to preach. In the last two years of my study, I was in charge of the service in Eindhoven.

One day in Eindhoven a Dutch man was robbed in a bar in the same street and thought the guilty person must have been one of us, the only colored people in the neighborhood, so he appeared to me with a knife in his hand. Before he could do anything, a policeman caught his hand and arrested him. Thank God for His protection.

After my graduation a few years later, I was called to go a second time to Saramacca, in Suriname, to assist in an orphanage. Our dear brother Simons held church meetings in Paramaribo. Many miracles were witnessed, even a blind man after the pastor prayed in Jesus' Name could go home alone, walking and clearly seeing again.

I held service at the orphanage in Saramacca. One Muslim girl came to Christ Jesus, but afterwards had to flee from her Dad who wanted to kill her. What a pity that not everyone understands that God is love.

After some time I returned to Curaçao where we joined a church and after some time fell in love with my wife. We married and have two daughters. During this period in time I was teaching Bible Study for Beginners and I also wrote a study book for this.

At my day job I had the privilege to have many interactions with government, employers and employees. And even for many years taught at universities both in Curaçao and the Netherlands where I met wonderful international students. One day in Rotterdam, one class asked me what my secret was. I had the privilege to explain that my joy came from personally knowing and walking with Christ Jesus. All Glory to our Lord Jesus, the Son of the Living God !!

There is so much more to tell, but in this context, I am convinced that through careful study of this Bible Study you will have a closer walk with our Lord Jesus and become stronger and stronger each day in the Lord. In the end, it is all about being obedient and faithful to the One and Only Who by grace has saved your soul, if you accept His Gift.
