End Times: Great Tribulation
Chapter 6. What Did Daniel Say? What Jesus Says

What Did Daniel Say?

Abstract
What Did Daniel Say in the context of Tribulation?
-
Daniel foresaw a horrible time of hardship since the history of humankind, but God's children that persevere will be saved.
-
In addition, there will be the judgment after which some will enter in God's Presence and others will be eternally separated from God.

Daniel 12:1-3
“At that [end, AMP] time Michael shall stand up, the great [angelic, AMP] prince who stands watch [guard, AMP] over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time.
And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the Book [of Life, AMP].
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake [resurrect, AMP], some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness [will shine, AMP] like the stars forever and ever."

1 Thessalonians 4:16d
"And the dead in Christ will rise first."

-
Daniel sees a horrible time of hardship since the history of humankind.
-
Paul states that the born-again Christians who died in times past will first rise and Daniel adds that they will shine like the stars, that is the first resurrection.

What Jesus Says

Abstract
What Jesus Says in the context of Tribulation
-
“Immediately after the tribulation of those days … Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven … and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other”, see Matthew 24:29-31.
-
Our Lord Jesus makes no mention of a Pre-Tribulation or Mid-Tribulation or Post-Tribulation Rapture; instead, Jesus clearly states, “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.”, see Matthew 24:9.
-
Moreover, a wise instruction from Jesus is, “... do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”, according to Matthew 10:28.

Matthew 24:9-13
"And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you.
Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
But he who endures to the end shall be saved."

-
Our Lord Jesus first warns that we need discernment not to be deceived; and then Jesus states that they would betray us, and that we will have tribulation and even be killed.
-
Remember, even your so-called ‘friend’ can turn against you and turn you in just like Paul -formerly Saul- did with the Christians thinking that he served God.

John 15:18-20
"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’
If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me."

Matthew 24:29-31
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."

-
Again Jesus reminds us about the tribulation and persecution, but that He will return for His faithful children.

Revelation 2:7,11,17, 21-23,25-26
"He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat.
And I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name written which no one knows except him who receives it.
And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed, I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.
I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations."

Revelation 3:5,10-12,18-21
"He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.
Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.
Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.
I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore, be zealous and repent.
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.”

-
Here in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, our Lord continuously repeats "He who overcomes", in other words, we must persevere in the strength and power of the Holy Ghost.
-
There are wonderful promises for those that will walk in faith through all the persecutions ("gold refined in fire") and live in holiness by repenting and rejecting any sin in their life ("white garments") and ultimately prevail.

Revelation 12:11
"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."

-
Our Lord Yeshua Hamashiach continuously emphasizes to persevere and overcome; when the going gets rough and tough, He will most certainly pull us through.

Matthew 13:21, KJV; Mark 4:17
"Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.”
“yet he has no root in himself but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles.”

-
Top priority is watering (nurturing) our roots (our relationship) with our Lord Jesus during our Quiet Time, see web page "In Silence with Jesus (2)".

Matthew 10:28
"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Luke 12:4-5
“And I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I say to you, fear Him."

-
Jesus foresees that there will be hatred against His followers and that they will even be killed.
-
One thing is certain that only God is on the eternal throne and only God has the last word, so it is better to fear Him than humankind.

John 16:33
"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace.
In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

-
Christ Jesus guarantees that once we have decided to follow Him, we will have opposition and tribulation in the world, as we are not of the world, and the world does not understand us, as we are spiritual.
-
We are not focused on the temporary, but on the invisible and eternal.
-
Just like Jesus overcame we will also overcome as long as we trust in and obey Him.
