Dennis Dare, author
Dennis Dare was born in 1954 and grew up in a home where his father was Protestant but did not attend church, while his devoted Catholic mother would regularly attend church. From an early age, Dennis pondered on the question why most would not make it to heaven.
A Life Transformed by Christ
In 1974, at age 20, while studying economics in the Netherlands, his niece Rubia encouraged him to read the Bible.
As he studied the Gospels, Dennis was deeply moved by the love of Jesus Christ - His compassion for the needy, healing of the sick, deliverance of the oppressed, and ultimately His sacrifice on the cross for the salvation of humanity.
A few weeks later, his niece led him to Christ. Dennis confessed and renounced his sins and received Jesus as his Savior and Lord. He describes this as being born again and entering into a personal relationship with God.
A Calling to Share the Gospel
During and after his studies, Dennis became actively involved in evangelism and church ministry. Among other things, he preached, participated in street evangelism, played keyboards, led church services, prayed for the sick.
Later in 1986 he went to serve as a supervisor of the orphanage together with Rieke, and was also in charge of the church in Saramacca.
In addition, Dennis was one of the leaders and worked closely with the pastor of the church in Paramaribo, Suriname. A blind man received his sight after the congregation prayed for him.
When he returned to Curaҫao, he married his lovely wife and they have two daughters.
Over more than 50 years, Dennis has witnessed numerous miracles, including people experiencing healing and deliverance. Most importantly, he has seen lives transformed through faith in Jesus Christ.
His central message has never changed:
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” [Hebrew 13:8]
Dennis believes that the Bible's message is relevant today and urges people to consider seriously their relationship with God and their eternal future.
His Mission Today
Dennis continues to serve in a Pentecostal New Life church affiliated with the Assemblies of God and remains committed to helping people discover the Christian faith through the Bible.
In 2025 he revisited a Bible Study for Beginners originally developed back in 1995, when he gave Bible study lessons to new born-again Christians. He renamed it to "Discover the Secrets to Living a Victorious Christian Life", which is found on this website.
Considering all the deceptions on a global scale he added a comprehensive study on The End Times – Great Tribulation.
His desire is simple: to point people to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their relationship with Him.

Rieke Hemelaar, co-editor
Rieke Hemelaar was raised in a family who believed in Jesus as their Savior who died for their sins. As a child her parents read Bible stories to her and they also took her to Sunday school. She believed that Jesus died for her sins since she was 6 years of age, but when she became a nurse and lived on her own, she stopped going to church.
In 1978 she married a man who was raised in Indonesia, and was involved in the occult. He would seek guidance and power through 3 objects which they use in witchcraft rituals.
A Life Transformed by Christ
Things became worse, as her husband was caught in adultery and also went bankrupt due to his gambling addiction. During these years Rieke got to know Lord Jesus more intimately, and consciously became a child of God in 1979. She later divorced her husband in 1984.
A Calling to Share God’s Love
After her divorce, her son was then 2 years old, she went to a Pentecostal church, which was the same congregation in Rotterdam where Dennis also served. Rieke was asked to go and serve in an orphanage in Saramacca, Suriname, where she served more than 2 years. The orphanage took care of both boys and girls between 3 and 15 years of age.
Afterwards Rieke returned to the Netherlands at the end of 1986 where she met her current loving husband during an impactful evangelization campaign.
The Lord gave Rieke a heart for evangelism and twice a month she does street evangelism in her home town.
Her primary message is:
John 14:6 [NASB-1995]: “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father; no religious effort or other path can replace Him. A person is saved by faith alone in Christ, and everyone who believes in Him has eternal life and is eternally secure.
Her favorite Scripture is:
Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
This does not mean everything that happens is good, or that God caused every painful event. We live in a fallen world, but God uses even difficult circumstances to shape us for the better. She has put her trust in God who has turned even unfair and difficult situations for good, shaping her toward Christlikeness. Even in times when she could not understand why certain things happened, or what the outcome would be, God was working on her behalf.
Her Mission Today
In late 2023 she got to know GlobalRize International, which is actively spreading the Gospel in 40 languages worldwide. Since then, the Lord increased her compassion and gave her an urge in her heart to serve as an official GlobalRize volunteer, mentoring many new Christians all over the world via an online Basic-Bible course in English. This gives her an enormous pleasure and satisfaction to see how these Bible students grow in their faith and become disciples of King Jesus.
Rieke is co-editor of Chapters 1-4, which includes the Foundations of our Faith.
