End Times: Great Tribulation
Chapter 2: Daniel Greatly Beloved of God,
Purpose of, What is and How Long is the Great Tribulation,
When and What is the Millennium?
Daniel Greatly Beloved of God
Abstract
Daniel Greatly Beloved of God
-
Daniel was very special in God's sight, he was determined to serve God all the way, even in what he ate separating himself for God.
-
Despite knowing about king Darius' decree stating that petitions should only be directed to the king, Daniel kept worshiping and praying to the Living God; when he was cast into the lions' den, God sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt Daniel.
-
Daniel was accustomed to confess his sins, as well as the sins and iniquities of his people, while even humbling himself [most likely fasting] for 21 days to receive an answer and understanding from God.
-
Just like Daniel may we purpose in our hearts to be faithful to Almighty God all the days of our lives, and may we continuously be purified and walk in holiness by God’s grace.
Daniel 1:8, KJV, AMP, AMPC
“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore, he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.”
“But Daniel made up his mind …”
“But Daniel determined in his heart …”
Daniel 6:10
“And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days."
Daniel 6:16,22,23
"So, the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”
“My God sent His angel and shut the lions’ mouths, so that they have not hurt me, because I was found innocent before Him; and also, O king, I have done no wrong before you … So, Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.”
Daniel 9:20-21a,22a, 23cd
“Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God … , the man Gabriel, … , he informed me,…, for you are greatly beloved; therefore, consider the matter, and understand the vision.”
-
We can see why Daniel was very special in God's sight, he was determined to serve God all the way, even in what he ate separating himself for God.
-
Moreover, despite knowing that there was a firm royal decree -with harsh consequences when disobedient- to only petition and/or bow down to king Darius, Daniel was faithful and kept worshiping and praying to His trustworthy God. In the end God sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths as to not hurt Daniel who was cast into the lions den. [Daniel 6:22]
-
We also learn that Daniel confessed his sins, as well as the sins and iniquities of his people and also humbled himself (Strong's H6031 -ʿānâ: humbling oneself, weakening and afflicting oneself often interpreted as fasting) for 21 days to receive an answer and understanding from God. [Daniel 9:3-6,9-11,16,18-20; 10:11-13]
-
Just like Daniel may we purpose in our hearts to be faithful to Almighty God, El Shaddai, all the days of our lives, and may we continuously be purified and walk in holiness by God’s grace.
Daniel 12:4,9-10, AMP
"“But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the scroll [NKJV: book] until the end of time. Many will go back and forth and search anxiously [through the scroll], and knowledge [of the purpose of God as revealed by His prophets] will [greatly] increase."
"And the angel said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are concealed and sealed up until the end of time. Many will be purged, purified (made white) and refined, but the wicked will behave wickedly. None of the wicked shall understand, but those who are [spiritually] wise will understand.”
-
Now that we are in the end of time -God's intermezzo of eternity- and we have the Internet, humanity can search all kind of information and acquire knowledge in a variety of areas; technology has greatly improved and knowledge has indeed greatly increased.
-
But, deception has also augmented exponentially. More than ever, we need God's Spirit to grant us discernment to screen information and news by using different alternative sources, and to be cautious regarding new technologies that are being implemented.
-
Above all, God's Truth revealed in His Word must be our foundation and guide through our life's journey to -among other things- know what to believe and how to use technology, and what not to accept.
Purpose of, What is and How Long is the Great Tribulation
Purpose of the Great Tribulation
Abstract
Purpose of the Great Tribulation
-
One of the reasons why God allows the Great Tribulation is to test us in order to refine, to purge and to make us pure.
-
One minute of illicit happiness can destroy your life, your ministry, your testimony and your reputation which you built during many years.
-
In this process of purification and sanctification we must stay far from the works of the flesh and keep our eyes, our mind, what we dwell on, and our expressions holy. Jesus our Perfect Example asks us to follow Him and deny ourselves, and to take up our cross daily.
-
In all this, we truly need the indwelling and overflowing of the Holy Spirit, His character and His strength to persevere to the end. Only in fellowship with Holy Spirit can we be an overcomer.
Daniel 11:35, AMP
“Some of those who are [spiritually] wise and have insight will fall [as martyrs], [thus, then, the insincere among the people will lose courage and become deserters. It will be a test, AMPC] in order to refine, to purge and to make those among God’s people pure, until the end time; because it is yet to come at the time appointed [by God].”
-
Daniel warns that some of the Saints, God's children, will be martyred during the Great Tribulation.
-
Furthermore, God allows this period of time to test us in order to refine, to purge and to make us pure.
-
One thing is certain, we truly need the indwelling and overflowing of the Holy Spirit, in Hebrew Ruach HaKodesh. We need His character and His strength to persevere to the end. Only in and through fellowship with the Holy Spirit can this be achieved and can we be an overcomer.
Luke 9:22-24
“Saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day. Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”
-
May we deny ourselves, and take up our cross daily, and follow Jesus!
Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Luke 9:25-26
“For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and is himself destroyed or lost? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.”
-
The one way of Christ Jesus is hard and tough with difficulties during our pilgrimage on earth, but we know that the end result will be glorious. Bless Jesus!
Galatians 5:19-21
“Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery (comment: even in your heart while looking on the opposite sex to lust), fornication (sexual immorality, any sex outside of marriage), uncleanness, lewdness (pornography, prostitution, indecent exposure, abuse), idolatry (honoring, worshiping any other besides God), sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders (in the heart), drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God."
Galatians 5:19-21, AMP
“Now the practices of the sinful (flesh) nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality (whoredom, fornication, idolatry, surrendering of sexual purity, premarital sexual relations, also pornography), impurity (any activity, thought, word, or action against God’s will of a holy life), sensuality (lack of self-control, total irresponsibility), idolatry (any person or thing that you adore or worship, includes prostitution, often as part of pagan ritual), sorcery (includes occult practices, witchcraft, worship of evil powers, drug-induced trances), hostility (anger, emotionally charged aggressive behavior), strife (conflict or quarrel, angry disagreement), jealousy (fear of losing someone/something, out of insecurity, not wanting that the other prospers), fits of anger (uncontrolled rage, outbursts), disputes (arguing irritably), dissensions (quarreling), factions [that promote heresies: false doctrine, self-seeking], envy (embittered emotion when lacking another’s (perceived) superior achievement, quality or possession and wishing that the other did not have it), drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these.
I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
James 4:4-6
"Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
-
This is very serious ... to align ourselves with the ungodly system of human life in (thoughts, beliefs, actions) separates us from God, but humility and submission to God will win us grace.
-
Now we understand Apostle Paul's letter to the Galatians that without God's grace we would have ended up in hell; let us stay far from the works of the flesh and continuously walk in repentance and faith, in holiness and obedience to God. We realize that this holy walk can only be done with Jesus' grace and mercy.
-
One minute of illicit happiness can destroy your life, your ministry, your testimony and your reputation which you have built during many years. Don't let this happen.
-
Pornography can destroy a healthy sexual relationship within marriage. If you are single this will cause a filthy addiction. Confess and break away with this habit. Stop right away. If you cannot, seek spiritual help from your pastor and/or an elder in the church.
-
To overcome outbursts of anger and other sins of the flesh the help and intervention of the Holy Spirit is required to grant us His character, as discussed in End Times: Great Tribulation, Chapter 1: "Preparing Our Heart" and Chapter 3 "Overcoming Temptations".
-
One thing that can also help in this context, is to be aware that it is a continuous process, that our own self has been crucified in Christ and buried in our water baptism, so that we could arise to a new life. Kathryn Kuhlman would often say, "I die a thousand deaths" before coming on stage, as she had this intimate relationship with Holy Spirit knowing that without Him she is nothing and could do nothing without His intervention.
Matthew 5:21-22
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder, and whoever murders will be in danger of the judgment.’ But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ (empty head) shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire.”
Matthew 5:27-30
“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off … more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.”
-
Jesus goes a step further than the Old Testament in that you can sin even in your heart with your thoughts, your imaginations when dwelling on a sinful act in your mind. In other words, we not only sin in our actions, but even in our mind if we excessively dwell on these thoughts and/or fantasies. More details can be found in Chapter 3: "How to Overcome Temptations".
-
Finally, Paul in 1 Corinthians 10:12 warns, "he that thinks he stands, be careful not to fall".
What is the Great Tribulation?
Abstract
What is the Great Tribulation?
-
The Great Tribulation is primarily Satan’s Wrath in a period of immense affliction, distress, oppression, as well as persecution of the Saints.
-
During that time period, a Remnant will be spared in the ‘wilderness’, nonetheless many Saints will be martyred.
Daniel 12:1-2
“At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, every one who is found written in the book.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.”
Daniel 12:3-4,11
“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
‘But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.’ ”
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.”
Matthew 24:15-18
“Therefore, when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes.”
Matthew 24:21-22, AMPC
“For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, and oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now - no, and never will be [again].
And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would endure and survive [be saved], but for the sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened.”
Revelation 12:7-9
“And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.
So, the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
-
What we have seen in previous Bible verses is that the Great Tribulation is a time of great trouble and anxiety never seen before.
-
The Great Tribulation in essence is Satan’s Wrath, because he is cast out of heaven together with his fallen angels, and ends up deceiving many.
-
In Satan's hatred of humankind he wants to drag as many souls with him to hell and ultimately into the lake of fire. See also Chapter 1 "How to be Sure of your Salvation" in which the latter is also discussed.
Revelation 12:13-14
“Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent."
-
Satan hates the people of Israel and God's faithful children, and therefore persecutes them and tries to destroy them.
-
However, in God’s Secret “wilderness” Place a Remnant will be spared and taken care of.
Revelation 3:10
“Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you [Strong's G5083: to attend to carefully, take care of, to guard, metaph. to keep, one in the state in which he is, to observe, to reserve: to undergo something] from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”
-
God will take care of His Remnant that is those that persevere.
-
Once we look at the outline of biblical usage of this word in Greek, we understand that this keeping has nothing to do with being raptured.
Revelation 12:16-17
“But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.”
-
Again the dragon, Satan, is furious against Israel and then attacks the Remnant Saints, the rest of God's obedient children.
Revelation 13:7; 20:4
“It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.”
“… Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
-
Many Saints will persevere and overcome -although being Martyred- but as they are faithful until the end, they will soon reign together with Christ, the King.
How long is the Great Tribulation?
Abstract
How long is the Great Tribulation?
-
The Great Tribulation starts when the daily sacrifices are stopped and the “Abomination of Desolation” is set up in the Temple, and ends after about 3½ years when Jesus will return.
Daniel 7:21-25
“I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.
Thus, he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, trample it and break it in pieces. The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom.’
And another shall rise after them; he shall be different from the first ones, and shall subdue three kings. He shall speak pompous [HCSB: arrogantly] words against the Most High, shall persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time and times and half a time.”
-
Daniel is given more revelation and sees the 4th world kingdom, out of which the Antichrist will rise and eventually persecute God's children.
-
A time stands for 1 year, and times for 2 years, and half a time is for ½ year, which totals 3½ years.
Daniel 7:26-27
“But the court shall be seated, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it forever. Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High.
His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him."
-
God has always been and will always be in control, yes, the Ancient of Days has the last word ... His Kingdom is everlasting; hallelujah.
Daniel 12:6-7
“And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?” Then I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished."
-
We notice the same time period mentioned again and again, that is a time (1 year), times (2 years), and half a time (½ year), in other words 3½ years.
Daniel 12:11-13
“And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days.
How blessed and beloved is he who waits expectantly [who endures without wavering beyond the period of tribulation] and comes to the 1,335 days! [AMP/AMPC]
But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days."
-
The Book of Daniel speaks about 1,290 days, which is the 3½ years mentioned before plus one more month.
-
Moreover, Daniel states that there will be those that will be waiting and expecting to see our Lord Jesus come in All His Authority with the Glory of God, while enduring an additional 45 days with unwavering faith beyond the 1290 days of tribulation.
Revelation 11:1-3
“Then I was given a reed like a measuring rod. And the angel stood, saying, “Rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship there. But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles.
And they will tread the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”
-
It seems that for the Israelites to obtain permission to construct the 3rd Temple, they will need to allow the Gentiles to have access to the court, outside the temple.
-
Also in Revelation, the period of 42 months and 1,260 days are repeated, which is equivalent to the 3½ years.
Revelation 13:5-6
“And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months.
Then he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven."
-
Once again the 42 months is referred to being the 3½ years.
-
It must be clear that God allows and tolerates Satan to do his thing during this period, while God could have wiped out Satan in a millisecond.
-
As we have seen the Great Tribulation starts when the daily sacrifices are stopped and the “Abomination of Desolation” is set up in the Temple in Jerusalem; this period will last for 3½ years, although in Daniel 12 there is mention of an additional 30 plus 45 days. Jesus will return at the end of this Great Tribulation, as the Gospel of Matthew 24:29-31 indicates.
When and What is the Millennium?
Abstract
When and What is the Millennium?
-
The 1,000-Year-Reign on earth of the KING of kings Christ Jesus out of Jerusalem is also called the Millennium.
-
This Millennium -the 3rd Day of Hosea 6:2- starts after the almost final phase of the Day of the LORD at the end of the Great Tribulation.
Hosea 6:1-3a
"Come, and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight. Let us know, let us pursue the knowledge of the Lord."
-
Notice God indicates through His prophet Hosea that "after 2 days", that is 2,000 years in our human terms, He will revive Israel; after paying attention to the heathen during those 2,000 years for them to also enter the Kingdom of His Son Yeshua HaMashiach.
-
God knows when His 2 days are completed and when the last soul -that is willing and that God purposed in His Plan- has surrendered to Jesus. Could the counting have started at Jesus' crucifixion or at His ascension to heaven? If that is the case time is indeed very short.
-
On the 3rd day in other words for 1,000 years, King Jesus will rule out of Jerusalem and Israel will "live in His sight". This will make up a total of 7,000 years.
-
Since creation we have had 4,000 years of human history and governance with Israel as centerpiece, then we almost have 2,000 years with the gentiles coming to Christ. After these 6,000 years the 1,000 years will follow under Christ' Governance bringing it up to a total of 7,000 years. Comparable to the 7 days of creation. [Genesis 1 and 2:1-3] What then follows are the New Heavens and the New Earth in which we will then be in eternity.
2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
“Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
-
Paul clearly warns us not to be deceived thinking that Jesus had already returned, as the apostacy -the falling away from the faith- will first occur, as well as the "man of sin", the Antichrist, must first be exposed seated in the 3rd Temple of God.
Revelation 19:19-21
“And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh."
-
God is in control and the Ancient of Days has the last word; the Beast (the Antichrist) and the False prophet will be cast alive in the lake of fire at the end of the Great Tribulation.
Revelation 20:1-5
“Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished.
But after these things he must be released for a little while.
And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them.
Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands.
And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection."
-
Contrary to what happens with the beast and the false prophet that are immediately thrown in the lake of fire, Satan, the Dragon, is bound in the bottomless pit for 1,000 years.
-
The Millennium then starts when King Jesus rules with His Saints out of Jerusalem for 1,000 years on earth, while this 1,000-year-period will be after the major part of the Day of the LORD, that is at the end of the Great Tribulation.
-
Christ Jesus is LORD of lord and His Kingdom is everlasting; hallelujah.
2 Peter 3:4,7,10-13
"... and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation ...
But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men ...
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells."
-
Peter in his second letter connects Jesus’ return (verse 4) with the Rapture ("thief in the night", verse 10) and the Judgment Day of Fire (verse 7) during which the Old Earth and Old Heaven will be destroyed (verses 11 and 12), as well as God's promise of bringing in a New Earth and New Heavens (verse 13).
-
In other words, in verses 10 and 12 above Peter joins “the Day of the LORD” with the earth being on fire and the heavens being abolished, with that Day coming “as a thief in the night”; Jesus uses a similar phrase in Matthew 24 and 25 when referring to His appearance when most will least expect Him.
-
Furthermore, Peter refers to our hope in seeing the New Heavens and the New Earth in God's appointed time; although this promise will be fulfilled by God, once the Millennium has ended.
-
Considering the aforementioned, especially the fact that 2 Peter 3:7 states, "But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men", it would not be logical that the Old Earth and Old Heaven would already be burned up at the end of the Great Tribulation when the Millennium starts, for the following reason. At the end of the 1,000-Year-Reign of Christ more ungodly men of all nations together with Satan will have to be judged, as can be read below.
Revelation 20:7-10
"Now when the thousand years have expired, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. They went up on the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. And fire came down from God out of heaven and devoured them.
The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever."
